Accessibility
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use maridian.co. That includes people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, screen magnification, or other assistive technology.
The standard we work to
We design and test this website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. The World Wide Web Consortium publishes these guidelines.
Our testing is ongoing. We do not claim that this website conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA at this time.
How we test
- Automated checks of color contrast, page structure, and layout on narrow screens on every page in our test plan: the home, waitlist, and page-not-found pages in each language and region version of this website, the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service, the Cookie Policy, and this statement, in light and dark themes, at phone and desktop widths.
- Scripted keyboard tests, including visible focus, on the English home page, and keyboard tests of the waitlist form in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
- Scripted checks of text spacing on buttons, and of the reduced motion setting, on the home and waitlist pages.
- Review of the site's forms, menus, dialogs, and animations in an accessibility audit and with scripted checks.
- Testing with people who use assistive technology every day: planned, not yet done.
Known limitations
- On phone-sized screens, moving through the home page with the Tab key can leave the item that has focus out of view. We have seen this with the Enterprise & API Inquiries and Join the Waitlist links, and with the demo conversation.
- In the demo on the home page, the light blue outline that marks the selected conversation can be hard to see in the light theme.
- On the waitlist form, if the mouse pointer is resting over the country, state, or phone code list while you use the keyboard, pressing Enter can select the entry under the pointer instead of the one you chose. Please check these fields before you send the form.
- In the country, state, and phone code lists on the waitlist form, the highlight on the entry you move to with the arrow keys is faint.
- When a search in the phone code list finds no country, screen readers are not told.
- If you press Tab while you are in the phone code search, keyboard focus is lost. Choose a code with the arrow keys and Enter, or press Escape to close the list.
- If the phone number contains letters or other symbols, or is too long, the waitlist form shows a general error after you send it and does not say which field to correct. Enter the number with digits only.
- If the email address on the waitlist form is not a complete address, we save your entry without it, and the form does not tell you.
- On our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, and this page, the light blue outline that shows which link has keyboard focus can be hard to see in the light theme.
- In the links at the top of our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, and this page, the page you are on is shown only by a different color.
- When you open a link that leads straight to a section of our Privacy Policy or Terms of Service, the page can stop a little past the start of that section, so its heading is out of view. Scrolling up slightly shows it.
- Our legal pages and this statement are available in English only.
What we do not use
We do not use accessibility overlays or widgets. We fix barriers in the website itself.
Report a barrier or ask for another format
If something on this site does not work for you, please tell us. Email accessibility@maridian.co with the page address and what happened. We will reply within five business days.
We can also provide information from this site in an accessible format, such as plain text or large print, on request.
Reviews of this statement
We review this statement whenever we make a significant change to the website, and at least every six months.
